Alexa Fournier

Alexa Fournier is an intern at The North Star Clinic and is in the final year of her Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from UBCO where she was involved in research in the areas of positive psychology and neuropsychology. Alexa brings valuable prior experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders, learning disabilities, and various mental health diagnoses. Having worked as a behaviour interventionist, academic mentor, and support coordinator at a learning centre for children with exceptionalities, she understands the value in creating safe and empowering environments. Alexa is passionate about helping students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally by using evidence-based approaches.

Alexa believes firmly in the transformative power of collaboration and creativity when it comes to designing individualized and strength-based supports for each child and their supporting grown-ups. She values a team perspective, having had the privilege to collaborate with specialized clinicians, including occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and board-certified behaviour analysts. Alexa is supervised in her practice by one of the registered psychologists on our team as listed in the consent form for the assessment service.
