Anilā Lacroix

Anilā Lacroix is an expert assessor who has worked across different settings ensuring a holistic understanding of her clients. As part of her approach to ensuring clients are well-supported, Anilā has taken the approach of fusing scientific inquiry with play, which began when she became a mom to her two sons and wanted to explore the world anew with them. Over the years, she turned her career as a meditation and yoga teacher trainer into different avenues of exploring what it means to be human at all ages. As a kids’ yoga teacher, she learned to match young ones in their energy and language, and used those connections to infuse mindfulness and self-inquiry. As an assessment clinician, she has worked with children presenting with various levels of giftedness, learning or intellectual exceptionalities, autism, and a range of other neuro-developmental experiences. Anilā has a combined academic background in philosophy and psychology, and is currently completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

As an assessment clinician, Anilā has conducted psycho-educational, psycho-vocational, psycho-diagnostic, neuropsychological, and independent medical-legal evaluations under the supervision of a licensed psychologist, working with people across diverse ages, populations, and life circumstances. Her philosophical training sharpens her approach to complex cases — bringing rigorous analytical reasoning, current scientific understanding of neurological and psychological experience, and deep respect for how people understand and describe their own lives. At The North Star, Anilā engages in psychoeducational ADHD, and autism assessments.

Her doctoral research focuses on mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) care within the Canadian healthcare system, an area of growing relevance for the individuals, families, and healthcare providers she works alongside. Beyond her clinical work, Anilā continues to be a yoga teacher leading weekend retreats, which is a background that informs how she shows up with clients no matter their age: present, unhurried, and genuinely curious. She is motivated to help people gain clarity about themselves and leave with recommendations that translate into pragmatic, everyday change.

Anilā practices under the supervision of a North Star Psychologist.
